University of Tasmania
Professor/Associate Professor in Cultural and/or Heritage Tourism
Position Number 15169

The University of Tasmania, founded in 1890, is ranked in the top two percent of universities worldwide and in the top ten research universities in Australia. The University has a strong and distinctive Tasmanian identity which underpins teaching and research that is international in scope, vision and standards.

Against this backdrop, the University of Tasmania is looking for an inspirational leader and highly creative senior academic with a focus on the strategic aspects of cultural and/or heritage tourism. This new position will work in close partnership with a broad alliance of tourism businesses, cultural industries, governments, indigenous corporations and environmental organisations and foster an enriched understanding of Tasmania's distinctive heritage, environment and culture and its role in supporting Tasmania's transition to economic, industry and cultural sustainability.

The successful applicant will have a PhD and significant research achievements relevant to the expanding public interest in cultural and/or heritage tourism, demonstrated commitment to industry engagement and a track record of generating funding from a range of sources.
