FORUM ON THE ANALYSIS OF BRIDGE PERFORMANCE DATA TO BE CONDUCTED AT TRB’S 95TH ANNUAL MEETING

TRB's Bridge Data Analysis Working Group --- “the Bridge DAWG” --- will conduct a forum on bridge performance data analysis from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2016, immediately prior to the opening of TRB’s 95th Annual Meeting in Washington, DC.  Attendees of the Annual Meeting are welcome to attend and participate.  Anyone who would like to present a briefing at this forum is invited to complete and submit an abstract form (attached) as soon as possible.

The Bridge DAWG is a new standing committee of TRB that has been formed to conduct forums to foster discussion of methods of analysis of bridge performance data.  Presentations will address the technical interests of professionals who work with such data for the purposes of bridge research, design, maintenance, and rehabilitation.  Topics will include collecting, processing, and analyzing such data, and developing insights into the behavior of in-service highway bridges.  Presentations will focus on techniques for extracting and analyzing data, and early results of recent applications of these techniques, and each presentation will be followed by a generous Q&A period.

Presenters are required to submit brief abstracts of their proposed presentations.  There is no deadline for submittal of abstracts, but earlier abstracts that qualify for presentation will receive precedence.  Abstracts are reviewed for conformity with the Bridge DAWG's guidelines (listed on the form), and as many qualifying abstracts as time permits are placed on the agenda.  Presentations are not subjected to prior technical review, and are neither distributed nor published.  Comments made during the discussion period that follows each presentation are not recorded.  All of these policies are intended to encourage presentations of recent work and free-wheeling discussions among presenters and attendees.

Bridge DAWG forums will be held twice each year --- in January, immediately preceding the TRB Annual Meeting in Washington, DC, and approximately at the midyear in conjunction with a major international highway bridge conference in another country.

When you make your travel plans to attend the TRB Annual Meeting, please consider arriving in time to include the Bridge DAWG Forum in your technical program for the week.
