**********************************************************************>> Please please stop with the unpaid job ads on this list
Please please stop with the exceedingly rude, sarcastic, abrasive responses to such adverts. If you don't want to work unpaid, then fine, don't apply! However, for some of us, such options can prove invaluable if taken. I worked unpaid for 15 months in astronomy outreach for a major organisation to get the experience I wanted and needed, and that experience has now landed me some fantastic job opportunities I would never have been able to get otherwise. Sarah is well within her right to search for willing participants, readers of this list are well within their rights to respond positively and take up the offer without fear of being judged or being made to feel that they are beneath the rest of you because you are lucky enough to have been offered paid work.
The almost vicious replies I read on this list make me increasingly tempted to leave it. Surely we're all on the same side, here?! Or maybe the moderators can clear up exactly who this list is aimed at - I thought it was for job/work opportunities, but please correct me if I'm wrong and there's something I am missing here. I am not interested in being part of a debate forum.
Sarah - good luck with your project, I am happy you have had a good response so far!

Subject: [PSCI-COM] Raremark: looking for students interested in getting digital health content / science writing experience
Hi all
I have some unpaid science writing experience available for undergraduate or postgraduate students interested, with potential for future paid employment. Raremark is a growing tech start-up in healthcare based in London, which aims to improve the lives of people living with a rare disease.
We need science communicators (as its unpaid, looking for those interested in getting some experience for now) who can summarise scientific articles in a concise and engaging way for patients and carers, and want the experience of writing digital health content.
What are we offering?
· No experience necessary
· Summary writing training if you need it in person or remotely
· Real-world work experience that you can put on your CV
· Exposure to working for a tech start-up
· Flexibility to work in your own time and from home
· Although unpaid for now, the possibility for future employment
· Based on your level of contribution, we may also give you references
If youre interested, know anyone thats interested, or want to know more, email me at [log in to unmask]
Thanks!
Sarah
