I am immunologist turned science communicator, who this summer decided to make the (suicidal? masochist? plain stupid?) decision of going freelance.
I noticed on linkedin that there are quite a few of us (freelancers) around Oxford and I thought it could be a good idea to know each other and create a group to meet regularly. This way we know who is out there to collaborate, brainstorm, support each other, or just cry over a beer for the lack of money ;)…? Either way to know each other can only be an advantage
Me, I am particularly interested in the creative side of sc comm (what means design and run projects to “sell”), and in working with the community, especially adults (although I have done all type of stuff)
I have quite a few contacts at Oxford uni since I was a researcher here, and the H2020 program is pushing for community engagement in research, one of my main interests, so I am also looking for collaborators to create and pitch projects. In fact, I am just pitching one that might need other sc communicators if it is accepted.
So come and say hi!
Best
