Hello,

We are looking for a Research Associate in Distributed and Database Systems to develop next-generation data processing systems at the interface of stream and transaction processing. The position, within the School of Computing at University of Kent, is funded by the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) for 18 months.

The selected candidate will be responsible for designing new solutions for large scale data processing at different level of abstractions from the data processing model to the design and implementation of high performance processing systems.

The ideal candidate would have a Ph.D. (or be close for completion of one) in Distributed Systems/Databases or related areas, have experience in stream/transaction processing systems and a solid research experience and publication record. Strong programming skills in C,C++,Java, or other system languages are necessary for this post together with attitude toward quantitative system evaluation.
