Hi

Thank you for your replies and advice. They are really helpful. I have summarised people's suggestions below as some of you expressed an interest in what others do to promote this resource.

1. "you can add value by customising with local guidelines / procedures is a good selling point" (Thanks to Simon Alberici)

2. "it is advocated by the Director of Nursing & her Deputy as part of the 6Cs drive. We have it embedded within the Clinical Skills training. one thing that sells is that the licence includes the use of images that can be used in training, assignments and preparation for job interviews." (Thanks to Susan Smith)

3. "After talking to some nurses, it seems that part of the problem here is that it's not obvious on our Intranet, so we are going to try to get a high visibility link on the homepage (rather than relying on people knowing that it is there). It's been suggested that we have the BNF, the District Nursing Handbook etc all on one page with an intuitive link from the homepage, but we haven't managed to find a suitable phrase for the link yet." (Thanks to Lesley Huss)

4. "I think that a big plus is that you can now access it over the internet using your Athens account. This is particularly useful for those who want to check on procedures away from their workplace." (Thanks to Tricia Rey)

5. "Our RMMO is accessed via both IP and OA log in Aside from adding it to the induction packs that we give out at market stalls at the monthly corporate inductions, I have an entry on the generic information email for LIS that I send out to those who ask and/or register for openathens. It is also advertised on our web pages on our intra net and is added to the quicklinks bar on our Trust LIS protopage. I always point out the bar resources when people come in to hotdesk or join the library." http://www.protopage.com/teeseskwearvalleys#TEWV/HOME (Thanks to Linda Mace-Michalik)

Thank you also to Janet Broome from Wiley who has been really supportive and helpful in providing resources and advice.
Thank you so much for all your tips and advice. I feel much more confident about doing my presentation! :)

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Subject: Promoting Royal Marsden Manual Online

Hi

We subscribe to RMMO but it's not very well used at our Trust so I have been asked to give a short demonstration/presentation in a couple of weeks to our Matrons. What I'd like to know is how you market RMMO: what are the key benefits you highlight when demonstrating it to users, how can they get the most out of it, etc.

I would appreciate your advice.

Kind regards

Morag
