Applications are invited for this full-time, permanent post at the University of Sussex. 

Research & Enterprise Services is seeking a Research Metrics Analyst to provide expertise and support on the use of bibliometric and other information for the management and monitoring of the University’s research. This is a new role and you will be responsible for producing and presenting analytical reports, advising senior decision-makers, promoting an understanding of bibliometrics and similar information, and providing training within the academic community. You will be experienced in data analysis, the presentation of information and have an in-depth knowledge of bibliometrics. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to command the respect of the academic community at all levels.
The University’s Research & Enterprise Services (see: www.sussex.ac.uk/res) is one of the main divisions of the Professional Services reporting to the Registrar and Secretary. It currently comprises six teams: the Doctoral School (PGR and Early Career researchers); Research Development (proposal support across all funders and mechanisms and aligned to the School structures; Research Finance (responsible for post award grant administration); Contracts & IP (legal support and IP management), Research Quality & Impact (assessment, quality assurance, and support for impact and research communication); and the Director’s Office (Research Governance and 
Management Reporting). It also provides dedicated support to the University’s Internal pump-priming initiatives via “Sussex Research” (http://www.sussex.ac.uk/staff/research/sussexresearch).

The successful candidate will join 2 other members of the Information & Systems team and will be based within Falmer House, on the University campus. The role of this team is key in supporting the University’s ambitions for growing and managing its research and business activity, through the provision of management information and monitoring of research activities. The post-holder reports to the Information & Systems Manager, who in turn reports to the Director of Research and Enterprise. 
This is an exciting period in the delivery of the University’s research and knowledge exchange strategy, a key goal of which is to support a major increase in research and business income.
