Dear all, We would like to welcome all interested researchers and postgraduate students to a two day workshop on lithospheric geodynamic modelling, organized on 11-12 January 2016 in Helsinki by the Helsinki University Geodynamics Group. The workshop will introduce basic physical and numerical concepts of geodynamic modelling of lithospheric processes through alternating hands-on use of modelling software and related topical lectures. Participants are expected to have some familiarity with tectonic processes and interest in using computer software to model lithospheric deformation over long time scales. The workshop is associated with and precedes the 32nd Nordic Geological Winter Meeting in Helsinki (13-15 January, http://www.geologinenseura.fi/winter_meeting/), but please note that participation in the workshop is available for everybody and not limited to conference participants.
