FYI. Deadline extended to Oct. 26! Health Technology Assessment International (HTAi) will be holding its 13th annual meeting in Tokyo, Japan, May 10-14, 2016. http://meeting.htai.org/events/tokyo2016 The Information Resources Group (IRG) is one of the interest sub-groups of HTAi and will be submitting a proposal for a full-day pre-conference workshop on May 10th or 11th 2016. The overall theme for the annual meeting (conference) is: "Value-based Evidence and Decisions in Healthcare - Embarking on a New Era" HTAi encourages workshop proposals to align with the overall scientific theme and program for the meeting. Additionally, these topics were suggested in IRG workshop evaluations from HTAi 2015: * Adverse effects searching * Diagnostic Test Accuracy (DTA) searching * Literature searching for rapid reviews * Hands-on session on text analysis tools * Introduction to economic evaluations and models; how to identify evidence to these parts of HTA The Chair and Chair-Elect of the IRG invite you to submit workshop presentation proposals for topics you would like to present and discuss with other information professionals at next year's conference. PROPOSAL FOR IRG PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP AT THE 13th HTAi ANNUAL MEETING IN TOKYO, JAPAN, MAY 10th - 11th 2016 Title of your topic / theme Description of your topic / theme Describe the relevance of your topic / theme for HTA information management issues and the overall theme of the HTAi Annual Meeting Suggestion for workshop title Suggestion for workshop form (e.g. presentations, presentations combined with group discussions etc.) Name and organisation of proposer Proposed speaker(s) and organisation(s) After the submissions close, the Executive Committee and a team of local medical librarians will: 1. Evaluate proposals regarding relevance of topic for HTA information management issues and the overall theme of the HTAi Annual Meeting. 2. Identify possible overlaps, combinations of topics etc. across proposals. 3. Prioritise proposals and contact proposer/s for more details if needed. 4. Finalise choice of proposals to be submitted as IRG proposal. 5. Reply to all proposers about decision of selected proposals to be submitted as IRG proposal. 6.
