This talk discusses developments in the critical political economy of 
culture and communications, the implications of climate change for 
critical political economy of culture and communications, and political 
dimensions of the quest for social and environmental sustainability.

Graham Murdock is Professor of Culture and Economy at Loughborough 
University. He has been a pioneer in the study of the political economy 
of media and culture. His recent publications include co-editorship of 
Money Talks: Media, Markets, Crisis (2015), The Handbook of Political 
Economy of Communication (2011), The Idea of the Public Sphere (2010), 
Digital Dynamics: Engagements and Discontinuities (2010).
