Camel Trust Grant - Small Grant for Post-doctoral Research in Anthropology
The Trustees of the Camel Trust invite applications for a grant of up to a maximum of £3,000 to support outstanding post-doctoral research in the field of social anthropology during the course of the calendar year 2016. Their intention is to support research by a young post-doctoral scholar and to help him or her to prepare for an academic career in anthropology and make a significant contribution to the discipline. This could be through a short period of post-doctoral field research, the completion of an original academic publication, or the completion and submission of a grant application (or any combination of these).
Eligibility:
Applicants must be have been formally awarded a PhD in Anthropology from a UK university, and the degree must have been conferred after 1st January, 2012. The terms of the Trust require that the successful candidate should be formally or informally affiliated to a UK university, and a short letter agreeing to such an affiliation must be forwarded to the Trustees before the award is finally confirmed. This might be from a prospective ‘mentor’, a former supervisor or a Head of Department.
There are no restrictions on nationality. Applications are invited from scholars in temporary employment or without any formal employment, but not from those who already hold a permanent faculty position.
Research on any thematic area and geographic region will be considered. The closing date for applications is 15 November 2015 and the proposed research may be done at any stage between 1st January 2016 and 31st December 2016. Applications should consist of a one page cover letter, a short CV, a one page outline of the proposed research activity, a one page budget, and an article/chapterlength sample of writing. ISSC GLOBAL FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM – CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
The International Social Science Council (ISSC) and the WZB Berlin Social Science Center are now seeking applications for their joint WZB-ISSC Global Fellowship Program. The fellowship enables an outstanding early career scientist (postdoctoral researcher with no more than 5 years’ work experience after their PhD or scientists without a PhD but with an equivalent level of research experience and output) from a developing country to spend four to six months in 2016 at the WZB to conduct research. Deadline 30 October.

Two fully funded 5-year PhD fellowships in the field of anthropology of tourism at the University of Lausanne
Candidates should hold a Master€™s degree (or equivalent) in the social sciences (anthropology, ethnology, human geography) or in other disciplines relevant to the candidate'€™s proposal and have an interest in anthropological theory and ethnographic work on a tourism-related topic.
Proficiency in either French or English is required; working knowledge of the other language would be an advantage. A good working level of French should be acquired within 2 years following the appointment.
