Research Fellow: Epidemiology / Applied Statistics

FOUR YEARS FIXED TERM
Starting salary: Grade 8 £39,685


The overall aim of this post is to work within the multidisciplinary research team to provide a high level of quantitative expertise to support the delivery of studies relevant to musculoskeletal problems in primary care. This work is directly linked to the NIHR Research Professor of General Practice’s programme of research.

You will use quantitative methodology to analyse epidemiological data from survey and consultation based datasets and help to develop randomised clinical trials and other clinical studies in conjunction with the senior programme management team. Clinical areas will predominately focus on gout, polymyalgia rheumatica, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. 

You will have a PhD or equivalent in statistics, epidemiology, public health or quantitative research methods and possess in-depth experience in the design, conduct, analysis, write up, and presentation of quantitative research. You will have a track record of publication in high quality journals, work well within a multidisciplinary research team and have demonstrable organisational skills. Good time management skills and ability to work independently are also essential.
