Senior Social Researcher, Office for National Statistics As a SEO Specialist Senior Social Researcher within ONS you will be responsible for a variety of unique and interesting pieces of statistical work supporting ONS. These roles vary across different business areas, but frequently involve liaising with other government departments and external stakeholders, working collaboratively across teams within ONS to deliver statistical research and outputs, and provide analytical solutions for customers. You will be accountable for the research tasks in your teams and will oversee the work of less experienced staff, building analytical capability within the organisation. JOB DESCRIPTION: You will join a team of professionals working together using a range of research approaches and statistical analysis, on a wide variety of exciting and challenging tasks. These will include: Accurately identifying gaps in the evidence base and making sound recommendations on how this can be managed Contributing to the design of new surveys and/or redesign of existing surveys Leading on the pilots for new techniques and approaches to sourcing data Overseeing the processing and quality assurance of survey data and data from other sources Managing individuals who produce statistical analysis as sound evidence to decision makers Creating innovative analysis which portrays its messages in clear and simple terms – particularly for non-analytical colleagues Responsibility for building relationships across organisational boundaries Taking responsibility to ensure data security is given the highest priority Leading work programmes and mentoring less experienced staff Producing tailored analytical technical reports and presentations and effectively drawing out the key message .....
