Fully-funded PhD studentships* available at the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Statistics and Operational Research in Partnership with Industry (STOR-i), Lancaster University for October 2016 entry

 

Our MRes and PhD students are leading the way in Statistics and Operational Research, developing mathematics to solve challenging, real-world problems which can make a difference to business and society. STOR-i, the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Statistics and Operational Research in partnership with Industry, is a pioneering 4 year PhD programme established in 2010. Using industrial challenge as the catalyst for mathematical innovation, the centre will develop future international research leaders. Industrial partners include AstraZeneca, ATASS, BT, IBM and Shell. Many of our PhD projects are developed and involve substantial collaboration with our industrial partners, providing a unique research and training experience. Our cohort-based PhD programme offers a unique style of PhD training, which provides an opportunity to:

 

-       be part of an exciting new group of researchers;

-       co-operate and interact with like-minded peers;

-       work directly with leading industry partners;

-       open up real potential for rapid career progression;

-       make significant scientific and industrial impact with your research.

 

For October 2016 entry we have 12 fully-funded studentships available for UK and EU nationals which include tuition and a tax-free enhanced maintenance grant of approximately £16,057. On successful completion of the MRes this will rise to £17,057, or £19,057 per year for students undertaking an industry funded PhD.
