It is a common problem. The main trade journal in the UK (Drink and Drugs News) issues a directory of residential rehabilitation services. Last year they listed 28 who had said they were TCs (many of them also said they were 12 step!!!!). The truth is that the vast majority are not TCs (although they may include some elements of TC practice). It is - in my view - an area where we have failed badly to establish a more acute understanding within the field of the basic principles of the TC and a clear understanding that it is a complete and distinctive approach.
