Higher Education Academy (HEA) Recognition (Fellowship) events – 2015/16

The HEA's professional recognition team organises events for both existing Fellows and prospective applicants looking to gain HEA Fellowship across disciplines, specialisms and levels of experience.

Our recognition events range from conferences on the UK Professional Standards Framework for professionalising HE teaching to CPD courses differentiated by discipline or teaching career stage, at institutional level. If you’d like to host a recognition/Fellowship event at your institution please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Writing retreats for Senior and Principal Fellowship of The HEA

Are you interested in achieving Senior or Principal Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy? If so our writing retreats may be of interest to you.

The HEA would like to invite you to participate in a professional recognition writing day to develop your Senior or Principal Fellow application. Our writing retreats are designed for colleagues with experience of professional practice in higher education who would like to develop their own application for Senior or Principal Fellowship of the HEA. The event provides time and space to think, discuss and reflect on your professional practice away from busy day-to-day working lives.

The key aims of the event are to:

·       enable colleagues to engage in critical reflection about their professional practice and in higher education

·       understand the criteria for what is needed to become a Senior or Principal Fellow

·       provide opportunities to share issues and discuss experiences with colleagues in relation to Senior or Principal Fellowship applications

·       facilitate space and time to progress your thinking and draft a narrative for your Senior or Principal Fellowship application

Each event will include briefings, group sessions as well as one-to-one advice and guidance with experienced staff. We will adopt a flexible agenda and work in response to participant needs.
