CREST product development for Welsh schools
The British Science Association (BSA) is looking for an individual/organisation to develop 2 new CREST Discovery challenges for schools in Wales. The total budget available is £11K. Ideas will be
generated in partnership with Welsh businesses and partners, but these will need to be expanded into quality educational resources that are piloted in 2016 & 2017.
The Welsh Discovery Awards
One will be inspired by ‘innovation and industry’ in Wales, and another by ‘Welsh heritage and culture’.
The new resources will:
-
Integrate transferable skills into the activities, as well as literacy and numeracy
-
Be trialled for use as a transition activity hence linking with CREST primary scheme offerings
-
Be piloted with up to 10 schools/groups of students
-
Be suitable for use by schools/organisations throughout Wales (i.e. not dependent on visiting a particular site/event)
-
Be suitable for whole/half year groups to undertake, rather than the small groups of students per school (e.g. clubs) who traditionally have
engaged with CREST Awards in the past.
Project timetable & budget
- Ideas meeting- Late Sept 2015 / early Oct 2015
- Drafts written Oct 2015-Jan 2016
