Dear Colleagues,

Does anyone know of any research that demonstrates parents have an increased likelihood of acquiring infections from their children attending day care/nursery, leading to increased sickness absence?

The background is.....a father with 30yrs service and exemplary sickness absence record. Two little one of 12 months and 4 years, both in nursery. Since January this year the father has had 17 days sickness, all minor stuff that he says he catches off his children.

I can understand the logic and anecdotally I have had parents say this but no firm proof. Can anyone point me to some?

Kind regards,

Eleanor
