Dear Colleagues
A cave site in the southwest (protected by steel doors) has recently been broken into and some material broken out of the fossil bed and stolen. An elephant tooth appears to have been the target. Considerable damage caused to the surrounding area. http://ukcaving.com/board/index.php?topic=18989.0

The tooth was clearly shown on their website http://pengellytrust.org/caves.htm

a) Please review security - steel doors weren't sufficient

b) Please keep an eye out for material being offered for sale.

Many thanks
Helena
