Do you know a Local Studies Librarian who has gone the extra mile? Have they pioneered an amazing project or given a career of excellent service to their community? If you do, nominate them for the 2015 McCulla Prize, the annual Local Studies Librarian of the Year Award. We welcome nominations from library staff, managers, researchers or anyone who knows of an exceptional local studies librarian. The closing date is 30 October 2015.

To nominate online, visit http://wp.me/pHO32-5X or download a paper form via http://www.cilip.org.uk/local-studies-group/awards/mcculla-memorial-prize/mcculla-nominations.

The prize is in memory of Dorothy McCulla who was the Head of the Local Studies Department at Birmingham Central Library, a post she held from 1969 until her untimely death in 1981.Her encyclopaedic knowledge and enthusiasm for all aspects of local studies made her well-known far beyond the city's boundaries and she helped to found the Local Studies Group of the then Library Association.

The Local Studies Group is a sub-group of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP).
