Our partnership with the US-UK Fulbright Commission aims to stimulate and inspire academic minds to contemplate the touchpoints of our business and their wider societal impact. The Fulbright –Lloyd’s of London Postgraduate and Scholar Awards <http://www.lloyds.com/lloyds/corporate-responsibility/charity/tercentenary-research-foundation/fulbright-lloyds-of-london-scholar-award> offer a generous support package to British citizens to pursue study or research in any field related to risk. This year there will be three UK Fulbright awards offered: one to support a Master’s student and two for postdoctoral research scholars. Successful grantees also receive a number of memberships, sickness and accident benefit coverage and visa sponsorship. There is substantial pre-departure support, including a Finalists’ Workshop (March) and a 2-day Orientation Programme (July). Once on-the-ground in the US, further support is offered by the Institute for International Education (IIE) and the Council for the International Exchange of Scholars (CIES), including additional travel grant opportunities for scholars to accept guest lecturing invitations at other US institutions. After the grant period is over Fulbrighters have access to our vast US-UK alumni network and are given the opportunity to attend a range of social and cultural events in the UK.
