Thank you Sarah. Wikipedia agrees! Can you confirm that if a learner gets a ‘C’ grade or above when doing a CIE IGCSE they get a certificate with the words ‘IGCSE’ and when they get anything lower (so, level  achievement) they get a CIE Certificate.

This is the thoughts of our SLT but I’ve never come across this…

iGCSE just means international GCSE, however the name is actually a brand name for CIE (Cambridge). This is why EDX and AQA have their own brandname called the Edexcel Certificate and the AQA certificate.

Hi all

What’s the definition of an IGCSE? Can the Level 1 and level 2 Certificate in English for example with WJEC but classed as an IGCSE?

I really don’t understand what the criteria is for an IGCSE…help!
