Subject: Autism practitioners group/network
** With apologies for cross-posting **
Hello everyone,
Way back in February 2013 I arranged a day conference-style meeting of autism practitioners working in HE. We met in Coventry and had a full day of guest speakers and discussion. The event was well attended, and the consensus at the time seemed to be that it was useful network and that there might be support for the network to continue in some form.
Unfortunately, a lack of time and a year of maternity leave meant that I didn’t really pick this up again after the initial event and it rather faded into oblivion. Following on from recent discussions with colleagues in other institutions, my mind has turned back to the group, and I wondered if there might be any interest in starting the group up again.
At this stage I’m just after expressions of interest, and also any suggestions as to what form the group might take (events, discussion lists etc). I know this isn’t the best time to ask as everyone is snowed under with the new intake of students, but rest assured I won’t be organising anything until at least the New Year – I’d just like to gauge the level of interest to decide whether this is something that is worth pursuing.
Best wishes,
Harriet
