Many thanks everyone who has sent in reports and information on your Heritage Open Days/London Open House/Wales Open Doors and similar local open day events. It is already fascinating reading and will inform future audience planning for archives - but it would still be great to have information from more participating services.

If you are not planning a formal evaluation, any of the following information would still be very useful:
*	Which day(s) were you open?
*	How many people attended?
*	What kinds of activity did you offer? (e.g. displays, tours, content for activities at other sites)
*	Any quotes or other qualitative feedback you captured or observed (e.g. whether visitors tended to be new faces or regular readers)

Please send your responses to [log in to unmask] All services participating will receive an overview report summarising responses.

Informally, I spent last Sunday spotting archive material on display digitally and otherwise at open days in the University of Westminster (digitised and part of an animated feature), Royal Institute of British Architects, Royal College of Physicians and Temple Church. We get everywhere, archives.

All the best,

Melinda

Subject: Heritage Open Days in archives - overview

Dear colleagues,

After seeing many tweets from archive services putting on well-attended Heritage Open Days over the last weekend, it would be very helpful to know how the days went for you. We aim to use this information to reflect back trends to those participating, allowing you to benchmark your own service's activity, and to draw out key headlines for use in planning the future of Explore Your Archive and other promotional campaigns.

If you are interested in helping and your archive service held a Heritage Open Day event this weekend, or indeed if you are participating in London Open House next weekend, could you please send a copy of your evaluation/event report to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>? If you are not planning any formal reporting, key statistics such as numbers attending, hours you were open or any qualitative information gathered on the day would still be very helpful.

If you are able to share some information about your Heritage Open Day with us, you will receive a copy of a short report drawing together findings from across the respondents. We will also post some headlines here on Archives-NRA for the sector to share. If you would like your information to be anonymised in reporting, please specify this when sending it through.

Thanks in advance for any information you can share,

Melinda
