Thanks to everyone contributing to this thread, it has been very resourceful. I just want to add another question, has anyone used the POBE software for optimal fMRI design? (http://www.jstatsoft.org/v56/i09)

I´m using it to improve the design in my pilot study (so that I can later use a power calculator), so maybe both these tools can help achieve good power in our studies as well as to standardize them.
