The Queensland Government is putting out the call globally to build the state's first digital archive.

Innovation Minister Leeanne Enoch will next month invite a worldwide expression of interest for the mammoth project.

"We want to see the most innovative ways of being able to store digitally born information so that we're ready for the changes as they come along," she said.
