Dear all,

I am part of the Organising Comittee of the 6th International Ethnographic Film Festival of Recife (Brazil) and I kindly invite you to submit your audiovisual productions for this festival. The deadline is this Friday (August 7th).

The International Ethnographic Film Festival of Recife displays and rewards productions that address, through an ethnographic gaze, the culture of the "Other" - Their knowledge, arts and behaviours. In its sixth edition, the Festival will take place on September 28 and October 2 this year.

The Festival features competitive and parallel screenings (non-competitive), as well as workshops promoted by LAV-UFPE (Visual Anthropology Laboratory of the Federal University of Pernambuco). The event is organized by the Post-graduate programme in Anthropology and the Post-graduate Programme in Communication of the Federal University of Pernambuco.

Our international partners are the Centre for Visual Anthropology of Goldsmiths

London University, Cineforum - Coontro - Sguardi (Perugia University) and Festival International du Film Ethnographique du Québec.

Please access www.filmedorecife.com.br , click on "Regulamento" and download the English version of guidelines and regulations for more information on how to submit your entry.
