Dear all, I have received the following message from Gail Boyle regarding cuts at Reading Museum: Reading Museum could be in line to lose about 25% of its staff ( 3.5FTE from 14.7FTE) or the equivalent of 6 posts. It is clear that Curators/Experts will be targeted judging by the language used in the consultation. The link to the consultation is here: https://www.snapsurveys.com/wh/s.asp?k=143766087059 Click through to the detail and paperwork and questions re. proposals for the museum are available: I have responded to the general questions relative to the potential impact of the loss of expertise, wider economic impact etc. More detailed proposals will result from this first process but I think we should all make representations. Best Wishes Gail Boyle BA FSA Reading Museum house a wide variety of collections including Geological specimens. This information has come from a group of SSNs that have got together recently and discussed how we can better share information like this and co-ordinate a response as a sector. I hope that as many of you as possible can find time to comment on these initial proposals. All the best, Giles Dr C.
