Dear All,

Just a reminder that the closing date for the exciting role of Explorer Manager: 11-19s in the Learning & Engagement department at Historic Royal Palaces (HRP) is Thursday 3rd September.

Explorer Manager (11-19s)
Based at the Tower of London, with regular working at all HRP sites

Do you have a passion for communicating our shared heritage in new and creative ways? Here at Historic Royal Palaces (HRP), we help everyone explore the story of how monarchs and people have shaped society in some of the greatest palaces ever built.

HRP is the charity responsible for the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, the Banqueting House - Whitehall, Kensington Palace, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle, and welcomes visitors in their millions every year.

As part of our learning and engagement (L&E) strategy, we are reaching out to new audiences through fresh, new programmes, big national events and increased digital interaction. We are deepening our relationships with current and repeat users and broadening the diversity of our audiences overall, we are introducing innovation and creativity in programming and an audience-centred approach. Exciting, strategic partnerships are also central to our new vision.

With your expertise in the heritage field, you will be expected to provide exceptional management for the Explorer programme which serves informal and formal learners; including groups, schools, families and young people across all sites, off-site and online, particularly focussing on the 11- 19 age group. In order to do this you will need to take an audience-focused approach to developing distinctive and high quality content that delights, surprises and engages Explorer participants.

As part of L&E's management team you will contribute to planning and delivering the aims and objectives of the overall L&E strategy to increase reach and impact and work collaboratively across the department and across HRP to ensure the Explorer programme reaches its full potential and learning is at the heart of everything we do.

It means managing a six-strong group of Learning Producers, so you will have experience of leading a team, and together you'll plan and run a series of absorbing learning programmes to engage a diverse 11-19 audience. For this, you'll need a degree (or equivalent) and knowledge of formal and informal learning. Add to this strong leadership, project and budget management skills, and you could soon be impressing visitors, just like the kings and queens who have lived at our sites over the centuries.

Interviews: 17/18 September tbc
