Hi Amanda,

Miranda’s advice is spot on.

If you are looking for more examples I would say that from both professional and personal experience that ‘Curiosity’ is a huge hit at Bristol Museum and Art Gallery and is aimed at under sevens.  From observation I would say under 5s use it most. Jane Hack from BMAG might want to comment on this!

I don’t know what kind of budget it was but it is particularly safe as the children are able to enjoy a space dedicated to them that is zoned off and has a tiny gate!

You might find this blog inspiring from a user’s perspective:

Apologies for the delay, I have been away.

Hope this helps,

Helen

Hello All,

Has anyone got – or had in the past – floor based activities for very young children are in an unsupervised gallery area.  I am after some concrete evidence that this works and is not a H&S issue in order to fight the tide of opposition I am facing currently.

I know I can rely on you!
