Dear Women Enabled International Partners and Supporters,

We invite you, your organization, and other allies working for the rights of women and girls with disabilities worldwide to participate in:

WEI’s Survey and Mapping Project of
Advocates and Organizations Working for the
Human Rights of Women and Girls with Disabilities

Through generous support from an anonymous donor, WEI has launched this project to foster greater understanding of human rights advocates, both from within and outside the women’s rights and disability rights movements, on the rights of women and girls with disabilities.

Take the survey - click here

Please visit WEI’s website for more information and updates on this project

Please submit your responses by midnight GMT on September 14th. The survey should take about 30 minutes of your time. Your responses will help provide an historic mapping of the scope and depth of the growing global field of disabled women’s rights organizations and advocates like yourself.

In addition, please share this email widely with your friends, colleagues and allies and encourage them to join us in responding to this survey, which is accessible. If you cannot complete the online survey, a version of the survey in MS Word is available on WEI’s website here.

In the coming months, WEI will follow up on the survey responses with in-depth interviews with a selected number of respondents, and will ultimately produce a comprehensive global mapping report of the field of advocates for the rights of women and girls with disabilities. This first-ever report and map will include infographics of the leaders, venues, and locations where women’s disability rights advocates and organizations are especially active, where the gaps are, and where there are opportunities for collaboration, and will be very helpful in achieving greater collective impact.

WEI’s project will provide a sense of the scope and gaps in advocacy for disabled women’s rights and serve as an empowering organizing tool for us all to share strategies. The final report will be posted on our website in 2016 and will include an in-depth analysis of trends in international and national legal frameworks and advocacy for the rights of women and girls with disabilities, including their sexual, reproductive health and rights, preventing and ending violence, education rights, employment rights, and land rights and rights to financial assets, and other advocacy areas. Through this Survey and Mapping Project, WEI plans to ultimately empower a Collaborative Partnership for joint actions among women with disabilities and their allies globally to push for more systemic and inclusive human rights policies.

Again, please respond to WEI’s Survey here by September 14th, and share this email widely with your friends and colleagues who care about the rights of women and girls with disabilities worldwide. Please contact us at [log in to unmask] for more information.

For those of you unfamiliar with WEI and receiving an email from us for the first time, please see our website, sign up for future WEI emails here, and follow us on the social media outlets below.

I look forward to your responses, and to reporting back to you on our progress in the coming months!
