Medical Statistician – Grade 7 – fixed term until 31/10/2016

 

The post holder will primarily conduct network meta-analyses for projects on subjects including the prevention of postpartum haemorrhage. The post holder will assist in providing statistical advice and support to the evidence synthesis and clinical trials research programme of the University of Birmingham and Birmingham Women’s Hospital. The programme addresses a wide and interesting range of medical problems of practical relevance to patients, carers and healthcare providers. The post holder will work alongside a number of statisticians within the University of Birmingham Biostatistics group as well as experienced clinicians at Birmingham Women’s Hospital. The team is currently running network meta-analyses and a large number of international/national randomised trials that the post holder could support.

 

The successful candidate is encouraged to take an interest in clinical issues and problems relating to women’s health, to enable meaningful contribution to discipline-specific research at a national and international level.

 

This post provides an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain the necessary experience to develop into a medial statistician for a leading research  team within a stimulating, friendly environment with first-rate facilities and an interesting and diverse research portfolio.

Salary: Starting salary for grade 7 in the range of £28,695 to £37,394 a year, (potential progression on performance once in post to £39,685). Closing date: 2/09/2015.
