Thanks - & yes, I think people (in the UK at least) do get the idea of “the Commons” as a concept. (mind you, there’s always one medieval historian that takes umbrage…)

I like to use the term ‘Creative Commons’, it links to the idea that teaching is a creative act.

 

‘Share your teaching materials as creative commons’ is much nicer to say than ‘publish your materials as OER’.

What’s a better term for “OER”, to use with non-specialists?

 

I know there has been plenty of discussion here on this over the years, but do we have any alternate terms that people are actively and successfully using?
