Five Liverpool libraries to be handed over to volunteers and community groups

Proposals to go before the authority’s ruling cabinet would see libraries across the city taken over by volunteers. The council is also to announce that Jan Parry, president of the Chartered Institute of Library & Information Professionals (CILIP) will chair a task group to look at the future of the city’s library service.
