There is an increasing array of emerging social networking technologies which can be used to successfully market your information service and Ned Potter moves beyond the basics to focus on freely available tools which help you communicate with existing and potential users.

Course Outline:
Moving beyond the social network basics, this course focuses on freely available tools which help you communicate with existing and potential users, and how to use them effectively - plus tips, tricks and general best-practice for marketing online.  Topics will include marketing with video, mobile apps, publishing online, the use of QR codes and Augmented Reality, and taking social media marketing to the next level.

Who should attend?:
This course is aimed at anyone who already has experience of social media but wants explore other online tools and how they can be used for effective digital communication.

Speaker - Ned Potter, University of York:
Ned Potter is an academic librarian at the University of York. He speaks and writes on the subjects of marketing and emerging technologies, and as well as providing marketing expertise for clients such as Bodleian Libraries and the British Library Ned has run training courses in a diverse range of countries including South Africa, Latvia and Australia. His training focuses on tangible ideas which can be immediately applied when the delegates return to their desks following a workshop. He is the author of the Library Marketing Toolkit published by Facet Publishing in 2012, and can be found online at www.ned-potter.com and @ned_potter.
