Dear Colleagues,
Completed in May 2015, and with inputs from over 60 UK institutions, the Jisc Monitor project was tasked with developing designs and prototype software to demonstrate how institutions (and the broader supply chain) might go about supporting and tracking Open Access publication processes, especially with reference to compliance and costs.
The project focused on two related applications that commend themselves for consideration as key components in the Jisc Open Access (OA) offer, under the working titles of ‘Monitor Local’ and ‘Monitor UK’. In addition Monitor experimented with GUIDE (Getting Useful IDs Early), a service to enable institutions to identify publications where their academics do not have a lead role as the corresponding author.
This page signposts key project outputs and related articles and documentation: http://www.jisc-collections.ac.uk/Jisc-Monitor/
Work is starting on the new phase of development to deliver 2 services, Monitor local and Monitor UK, in 2016. More information on this will be released on the Jisc Scholarly Communications blog on this in due course: http://scholarlycommunications.jiscinvolve.org/wp/
All the best,
Frank
