We seek to appoint a Senior Lecturer or Reader with expertise in the broad field of urban futures with an emphasis on one or more of the following key research themes:

a.       Urban sustainabilities with specific interests in: how urban systems shape and are shaped by the efforts to provide safe, secure and healthy urban environments.

b.      Cities as spaces of sustainable innovation, urban transitions and urban sustainability experiments.

c.       Sustainable city planning and design, especially Smart Cities, eco-cities and the urban knowledge economy.

d.      Urban social sustainability.

e.      Resilient cities.

f.        Mega-cities, and sustainable urbanism in the Global South.

g.       Trajectories of urban change in the Anthropocene.
