Dear All,

A postdoctoral position, for development and application of cryo-FIB technique in cellular electron microscopy, is available in Dr. Haixin Sui's lab at the Wadsworth Center, Albany, NY. The lab studies structural basis of macromolecular assemblies and organelles in epithelial cells for sensing or responding to extracellular environmental changes. At Wadsworth Center, the excellent instrumental environment allows junior researchers to learn and utilize a wide range of advanced 3DEM techniques for their research. The state-of-the-art instrument at the 3D-EM facility here includes a Zeiss Neon-40 EsB FIB-SEM with a modified Leica cryo-specimen transfer system, and a JEOL 3200 FFC/PP microscope with an in-column energy filter and a K2 Summit DD camera, in addition to phase-plate imaging capability.

The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated individual holding a Ph.D. in physical sciences, structural biology, or other biological sciences. Experience in electron microscopy and computational image processing is advantageous, but not essential.

Interested applicants should send a CV, a brief summary of research experience/interest, and contact information of 3 references to Dr. Sui, [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.

Thanks
