Salary £18,000 to £28,000 depending on experience and qualifications Closing Date: 9 am 27 July 2015 AlphaPlus Consultancy Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic individual to act as a junior statistician and to support a range of research and evaluation projects for the current consultancy team, which undertakes mixed methods research in UK and international education. AlphaPlus is a small, friendly and growing consultancy providing services to a range of public and private sector organisations on education and assessment issues. This post is suitable for final year university students, recent graduates or postgraduates, with a First Class or 2:1 degree in mathematics or a related discipline (e.g. statistics), but at least with a significant component in statistics. A Masters degree in research methods or statistics would also be suitable. Candidates must also have strong GCSE and A Level results, including A Level Maths at grade A or B. High level Excel and SPSS skills are essential and further training and development will be provided. Basic project management, understanding and a willingness to work flexibly (including on non-statistical project activities) within a team are also essential. AlphaPlus Consultancy employees operate nationally from home offices and company premises in Manchester. This role is full time, Monday to Friday, based in central Manchester although part-time and flexible working arrangements are available. The role also requires some national travel working in company and customer offices.
