Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers. There are 850,000 people with dementia in the UK and numbers are set to rise to over 1 million by 2025.

An organisation like Alzheimer’s Society is only as good as the people who work for it. So we don’t just develop and refine their skills. We actively monitor their performance and encourage their feedback in ways that inform our plans and activities. It’s all about putting data at the heart of all our decision making – and we are now looking for a talented People Data Manager to build on our success so far.

You will be joining us at an exciting time of opportunity and change. As the UK’s leading dementia support and research charity, we are now restructuring our People and Organisational Development (POD) team to build on our momentum prepare for the challenges ahead, enabling the Society to fulfil its part in changing the landscape of dementia forever. You will therefore have exceptional scope to influence our standards of performance and our strategic direction of travel.

Your goal? To develop and deliver a people data framework capable of driving continuous improvement and delivering insights into our organisational effectiveness. Leading and developing a small team, you will engage with colleagues across the Society to shape our data reporting and analysis, ensure data quality and explore new and better ways of capturing volunteer and employee data. You will use the insight gained from our data sources to influence our plans and activities, and to contribute to the ongoing development of organisational workforce measures.

Educated to degree level or equivalent, you are likely to have – or be studying towards – the CIPD qualification. You must have experience of using insight from internal and external data to inform decisions, strategy and planning. Along with a thorough knowledge of data collection tools and techniques, you will have the ability to present complex data in a clear and accessible way. Excellent influencing and negotiating skills are important, and you will ideally have experience of working in an HR or OD environment. You will also need advanced spreadsheet skills, outstanding problem-solving abilities and the flexibility to work well within a changing, geographically dispersed organisation.
