The Comprehensive Clinical Trials Unit is a specialist unit set up within the Institute of Clinical Trials and Methodology  at UCL with a specific remit to design, conduct, analyse and publish clinical trials and other well-designed studies. An enthusiastic individual is sought for this full-time post, which is based on the Bloomsbury campus, London.  The primary role of the post holder is to provide statistical support for a range of trials within the UCL CCTU.

 

Grade: 7

Hours: Full Time

Salary(inclusive of London allowance) £33,353 - £40,313 per annum

 

The post is funded for 2 years in the first instance.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

The Medical Statistician in the Comprehensive Clinical Trials Unit will primarily have  responsibility for statistical aspects of specified randomised trials co-ordinated by the Unit. Other responsibilities include developing statistical analysis plans; scheduling, presentation and preparation of reports of analyses for Independent Data Monitoring and Trial Steering Committees; discussion and interpretation of results with colleagues and trial collaborators and assisting in the preparation of conference abstracts and papers for submission to peer-reviewed journals.

Key Requirements
A postgraduate qualification in Medical Statistics (or closely related subject), or equivalent experience, with experience in clinical trials (or related work). In addition, familiarity with one or more statistical packages with excellent IT skills.
