Hi Andrew, You could look at Residency Unlimited, Res Arts and other residency directories to see what other residencies offer in Europe. For myself the most amicable residency I have ever undertaken was at Camac in France One to six months duration Huge studio (which had access to water & electricity, a large table and white walls which were easy to hang work on for documentation). Private room with a bath A communal dinner every night at 7pm which was prepared by an intern who was a chef i.e.. a chef on a work/live program that was supported by the EU. No more then 12 artists at a time. I found the privacy of my studio complimented with a social dinner every night was an excellent combination of time to work on one's own and time with other artists to share ideas, talk art and discuss theories.
