Subject: Identifying and dating wallpaper

Hello All,

Just wondered if anyone out there knew anything about dating wallpaper? I had a bag full of fragments of paper brought in the other day - photos attached. They have been attached to a door in layers which in turn were covered with tongue and groove boards. The house they are coming out of is very old, but I'm afraid I don't know where to start! I have looked at the resources on FirstBase which were helpful for the later pieces, but not so much for the ones I think are older. None of the pieces have any useful stamps to indicate the maker unfortunately.

Any help or pointers gratefully received.

Thank you

alexia
