Special Issue:

Exploring Internationalisation of the curriculum to enhance the student experience

Guest Editor: Dr Monika Foster

Call for Papers

This special edition of the Journal will explore the implications of internationalisation of the curriculum, specifically how it can inform programme development, the extent to which internationalisation necessitates programme change, and the ways in which internationalisation and intercultural dimensions can be built into learning and teaching to enhance the student experience.

Informed by research outcomes and academic practice, this special edition will approach the topic from a range of methodological perspectives and hence offer insights relevant to a varied and wide audience, both in terms of the generic principles and academic practice, through to subject specific applications. This special edition aims to both draw on the expertise of colleagues involved in researching and championing internationalisation, and the classroom experiences of colleagues implementing an internationalized curriculum in a variety of disciplinary and practice settings.

Contributions are invited which explore:

-       Research informed approach to developing internationalised curriculum at course level.

-       Good practice in internationalisation of curriculum in different disciplines.

-       The role of academics and academic developers in designing internationalisation and intercultural awareness into programmes of study.

-       Tools and resources available to develop internationalised curriculum.

-       Tensions and/or enabling factors between programme development and internationalisation of the curriculum.

-       Student voice in internationalisation of curriculum.

-       Intercultural dimensions of internationalisation of curriculum.

Contributions are welcome in a variety of formats and full details are available at http://jpaap.napier.ac.uk/index.php/JPAAP/index The deadline for brief abstracts is 22nd June and, if accepted, submission of full papers by 24th August 2015.
