May I suggest that there is no need to use “was” headers for what is effectively a new thread? This clutters up the list archive and makes following threads more difficult.

Taking a specific subsidiary idea from an earlier thread may be the occasion of a new thread. When it is, the best thing to do is simply to start a new thread. It is courteous to acknowledge that the idea occurred within the earlier thread. The subject header (thread title) should cover the actual topic of the thread.
