Call for Papers
The 3rd International Workshop on Multimedia Communications and Networking (MultiCom-2015) is to be held in conjunction with the 14th IEEE International Conference on Ubiquitous Computing and Communications
(IUCC-2015, http://cse.stfx.ca/~iucc2015/index.html) during 26- 28 October 2015 in Liverpool, UK.
MultiCom-2015 (http://www-users.aston.ac.uk/~pengx1/MultiCom2015/) is dedicated to address the challenges in delivering quality multimedia content within heavily loaded communication infrastructures
such as the Internet and wireless mobile networks. The workshop aims to cover research areas including the design, implementation and evaluation of enabling technologies for new multimedia systems in wired, wireless, or heterogeneous networks and multimedia
CDN backhaul. It also intends to bring together researchers and specialists from academia and industry to share their experience and achievements and establish new collaborations in this very promising research field.
Authors are invited to contribute to the workshop by submitting articles presenting their research results, projects and industrial developments that demonstrate significant advances in the following
areas, but are not limited to:
• Protocols and algorithms for multimedia CDNs
• Multimedia quality evaluation techniques
• QoE-driven scheduling and rate adaptation
• Video coding and processing
• Peer-to-peer multimedia streaming
• Error resilience and loss control
• Video transmission in wireless networks
• Video streaming technology for 4G/5G networks
• Adaptive streaming over HTTP
• Multimedia technologies for e-health
• Multimedia Big Data computing & transmission
• Multimedia Broadcasting
• Multimedia technology for Internet of Things
• Multimedia content caching and distribution
• Cross-layer optimization
• Mobile TV & IPTV
• Network structure, routing and resource control
• Playout buffer management
Paper submission
Prospective authors are invited to submit manuscripts reporting original unpublished results on the topics related to the workshop. The length of the papers should not exceed 6 pages + 2 pages for
overlength charges, including figures and references. The IEEE Computer Society Proceedings template can be found at: http://www.computer.org/portal/web/cscps/formatting (two columns, single-spaced, 10 fonts) Papers should be submitted electronically in PDF
format to EasyChair (https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=multicom2015).
All papers will be peer reviewed and comments will be provided to the authors. The accepted papers will be included in the main conference proceedings to be published by IEEE Computer Society Press
and indexed by EI. At least one of the authors of any accepted paper is requested to register the paper, in order for it to appear in the proceedings.
Distinguished papers selected from the conferences and associated workshops, after further extensions, will be recommended for submission and publication in the following prestigious journals or their
