Pollutants – How it affects you and your collections

This free course is provided by the Welsh Government and is open to staff and volunteers working in museums, archives and libraries in Wales. It is suitable for those responsible for the care and management of collections.
 
Aim
To identify the causes and effects of pollutant gases and dusts, how to monitor them, assess the risks and control exposure.
 
By the end of the course participants will be able to
Identify potential hazardous pollutants, assess the risks and put in place measures to reduce both hazards and risks.
 
Training Methods
By PowerPoint presentations and practical illustrations.
 
Preparation
Participants should bring with them any material of concern (suitably contained)

In order to maintain as wide a range of training opportunities as possible CyMAL will no longer provide lunch for training events. We will continue to provide tea and coffee on arrival and during breaks. We will also provide information on available food providers located conveniently near the venue.
