One of the class teachers gave me an idea - get chilren into the ICT room to do a research about China.  I haven't tried it yet as the ICT room is fully booked.  But my plan is as follows:

1) make a list of subjects
2) get children to do a research about China with PPT
3) At the beginning of each lesson, get one/two children to show their PPT.

What do your guys think?

Hi YiShan

I found this one although I haven't had much chance to use it due to limited lessons.  Hope you will find it useful.

Dear forum,

I am constructing  a draft scheme of work for my school and wonder if any of you can recommend textbooks/resources for culture  lessons?

The Scheme of Work concerned is for Y7 and Y8 (1 lesson every two weeks. so 18 lessons across the whole year), and no Chinese language skill is expected to achieve by the end of the said  years (although I may introduce some short phrases). The lessons for these two year groups will focus on culture aspects of China and Chinese communities in the world. Currently I am thinking about using themes per lesson (or two lessons: one lessons for me to introduce the learners with a specific theme and the students will complete a hands-on task/present something within the same theme during the next lesson)-- themes may cover history, geography, ethnic groups, contemporary Chinese pop culture (focusing on teenagers), schooling/philosophy, architecture, literature. Chinese in Britain, Chinese paintings and calligraphy .

Do you  gather materials for the above themes? If so, where do you usually find your resources? (I have been using BBC  Bitesize videos  (eg  http://www.bbc.co.uk/education/topics/zn63cdm/resources/1 ) and  Hello China (youtube channel) https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLCFDD3F76245D00A9
or are there any suitable textbooks published?

Thank you very much in advance.
