italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies
Applications are invited
for one permanent appointment as Lecturer (below the bar) in Italian (to
include modern Italian literature and civilisation), located within the UCD
School of Languages and Literatures.
Candidates should have a PhD in Italian studies
and a primary research focus on the Italian literature and civilization of the
“long 19th century” or of the 20th century, with evidence of a research
interest in at least one other European literature of the same period.
Experience is required in language teaching at university undergraduate level.
Preference will be given to candidates with an ability to teach on 19th, early
20th century topics in Italian literature/civilisation and possibly with an
expertise in literary theory. The successful candidate will prepare, design,
deliver and assess high-quality language and literature modules in the Italian
undergraduate and graduate programmes, will contribute where appropriate to one
or more School programmes outside Italian, and will undertake such administrative
duties as assigned by the Head of School or his nominee.
