“Contemporary Knowledge in the Humanities”

The Doctoral School in Literary, Philological, Linguistic, Historical and
Cultural Studies (29 th
and 30 th Cycle), in collaboration with the Departments of Human Sciences
of the University of
Palermo, is pleased to announce the Call for Papers for the International
Conference on
“Contemporary Knowledge in the Humanities” which aims to promote
reflections on
methodologies and instruments applied to both research and teaching,
through contributions
offered by Italian and foreign scholars.

The academic programme for the conference will be organised in the format
of a forum
where scientific research and teaching methods will be discussed from the
perspective of a global society. Moreover, the features of the studies in
the humanities will be redefined by evaluating and configuring their
effects not only on the academic environment but also on production
practices.

The conference welcomes the participation of PhD students from all Doctoral
Schools
related to studies in such fields as Italianistics, Literature, Philology,
Linguistics, Classical Antiquity and Cultural History and Heritage.

Objectives:
1. to encourage the dialogue between scholars of Literature, Linguistics,
Philology,
Classical Antiquity and History with different socio-cultural and
socio-economic
backgrounds;
2. to create a space for reflection as well as for exchanging practices and
ideas on subjects
related to the humanities;
3. to open up a space for sharing ideas and reflections from a
methodological but also
from an epistemological perspective on the threshold of the contemporary
age;
4. to promote ideas of international startups focused on the humanities.

Conference Themes:
1. research theories, methods and instruments related to the area of the
humanities;
2. communication and didactics related to the humanities;
3. the role of the humanities and their effects on the era of Business
Economics;
4. intertextuality and multidisciplinarity related to human
